Review of the Los Alamos Field Office Processes for Laboratory Oversight of Radiological Controls Activity-Level Implementation

This report documents the results of an independent oversight review of National Nuclear Security Administration Los Alamos Field Office processes for laboratory oversight of radiological protection program activity-level implementation by Los Alamos National Security, LLC and its subcontractors at Los Alamos National Laboratory at the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center and the Environmental and Waste Management Operations Technical Area -54 Area G facilities.

The review was performed January 13-16, 2014, by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Safety and Emergency Management Evaluations, which is within the DOE Office of Health, Safety and Security. This report discusses the scope, background, methodology, results, and conclusions of the review, as well as opportunities for improvement.
