Assessment of Nuclear Safety Culture at the Los Alamos National Laboratory Chemistry and Metallurgy Research Replacement Project

This report provides the results of an independent assessment of nuclear safety culture at the Los Alamos National Laboratory Chemistry and Metallurgy Research Replacement Project.   The assessment was conducted in January 2012 by the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Safety and Emergency Management Evaluations within the Office of Health, Safety and Security.  The primary objective of the assessment was to provide information regarding the status of the safety culture at the project.  In addition to providing information to line management, this assessment satisfies a Secretarial commitment to the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (DNFSB) related to DNFSB Recommendation 2011-1, Safety Culture at the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant.
