Headquarters Human Resources Operations promotes a variety of hiring flexibilities for managers to attract a diverse workforce, from Student Internship Program opportunities (Pathways), Veteran Hiring Initiatives and the hiring of persons with Disabilities in support of the Department of Energy’s overall mission.
The Department of Energy’s Pathways Program includes the internships, Recent Graduate and Presidential Fellows Program. The program was implemented July 10, 2012 and is designed to introduce candidates to Federal employment. We provide consultation and assistance in hiring Pathways participants and guidance and oversight thru the development of operating procedures and FAQ’s.
We are strongly committed to the hiring of our nation’s veteran’s and their spouses. A variety of employment opportunities are available for veterans and their spouses ranging from posted job announcements at USAJOBS or through special hiring authorities and internships.
We also assist with the use of veteran hiring authorities such as the Veterans Recruitment Appointment (VRA) and the 30% Disabled Veteran, which are designed to give managers greater flexibility in hiring qualified veterans non-competitively.
