Westinghouse Lighting: Proposed Penalty (2010-CE-09/1001)

April 19, 2010

DOE alleged in a Notice of Proposed Civil Penalty that Westinghouse Lighting Corporation failed to certify various flourescent and incandescent reflector lamps as compliant with the applicable energy conservation standards. DOE regulations require a manufacturer (which includes importers) to submit reports certifying that its products have been tested and meet the applicable energy conservation standards.  This civil penalty notice advises the company of the potential penalties and DOE's administrative process, including the company's right to a hearing.
