Westinghouse Lighting: Noncompliance Determination (2010-CE-09/1001)

October 8, 2010

DOE issued a Notice of Noncompliance Determination to Westinghouse Lighting Corporation finding that model F40T12/CWE (Westinghouse product code 07521000), a general service fluorescent lamp, and model 15GLOBE/65/2 (Westinghouse product code 3800400), a medium base compact fluorescent lamp, do not comport with the energy conservation standards.  DOE determined the products were noncompliant based on the company's own testing.  Westinghouse must immediately notify each person (or company) to whom Westinghouse distributed the noncompliant products that the products do not meet Federal standards.  In addition, Westinghouse must provide to DOE documents and records showing the number of units Westinghouse distributed and to whom.  The manufacturer and/or private labeler of the products may be subject to civil penalties.
