Trastar: Proposed Penalty (2013-CE-49003)

July 23, 2013

DOE alleged in a Notice of Proposed Civil Penalty that Trastar Inc. failed to certify a variety of basic models of traffic signal modules and pedestrian modules as compliant with the applicable energy conservation standards.  DOE regulations require a manufacturer (which includes importers) to submit reports certifying that its products have been tested and meet the applicable energy conservation standards.  This civil penalty notice advises the company of the potential penalties and DOE's administrative process, including the company's right to a hearing.
