DOE ordered Lochinvar, LLC, to pay a $8,000 civil penalty after finding Lochinvar had failed to certify that certain models of pool heaters comply with the applicable energy conservation standard.  The Order adopted a Compromise Agreement, which reflected settlement terms between DOE and Lochinvar.

DOE regulations require a manufacturer (which includes importers) to submit reports certifying that its products have been tested and meet the applicable energy conservation standards.  DOE issued a civil penalty notice on October 27, 2015, advising the company of the potential penalties and DOE's administrative process, including the company's right to a hearing.
