Letter from DOE to EPA, ENERGY STAR brand manager, Re: Referral of matter concerning Danby air conditioner model non-compliance with ENERGY STAR energy-efficient ratings. Danby informed DOE that the air conditioner model in question was an out of production model manufactured by Samsung. On Oct. 1, 2010 the companies requested additional testing, but notified DOE that this model had limited availability. On Oct. 12, 2010, a Samsung representative requrested that the Danby air conditioner model in question be removed from the ENERGY STAR products list. DOE referred this matter to the EPA.
