Menice Santistevan serves as the Executive Director of the Northern New Mexico Citizens’ Advisory Board, a site-specific advisory board to the U. S. Department of Energy. The NNMCAB is one of eight boards across the DOE Complex which comprises the Environmental Management Site Specific Advisory Board (EM-SSAB). Ms. Santistevan was appointed to the NNMCAB in 1998 by Secretary of Energy, Federico Pena. After serving four years on the board, including two years as Chair, the DOE asked her if she would take on the new role of Executive Director.  Ms. Santistevan assumed the duties of Executive Director in 2001 and has served in that role since then.

Ms. Santistevan holds a Master of Arts Degree and is a trained Master Facilitator. She recently completed Federal Advisory Committee Act training and has written two papers which have been accepted for publication and presentation at the Waste Management Symposia.

Ms. Santistevan resides in Taos, New Mexico where she has deep roots, tracing her family ancestry back eight generations.
