Cincinnati – The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today awarded a task order to the MITRE Corporation, of McLean Virginia. MITRE will provide research and development in support of DOE’s Office of Environmental Management. The task order has an approximate value of $1.176 million, with a performance period of 12 months.


The MITRE Corporation is a not-for-profit organization chartered to work for the interest of the public. MITRE manages the Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) for the Department of Defense, Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Homeland Security, and Internal Revenue Service under the IRS (FFRDC) Master Indefinite Delivery/ Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) Contract.


An FFRDC is a unique organization that assists the United States Government with scientific research and analysis, development and acquisition, and systems engineering and integration.
