Biography

Ted Pietrok
Director of Operations Division
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory

Ted Pietrok has been the Director of the Operations Division since 2011. He is responsible for operational management and oversight of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), including oversight of environment, safety, health, quality, security, and facilities and operations.

Ted began his career with DOE in 1989 at the Hanford Site where he was responsible for environment compliance and pollution prevention for three years.

He then spent seven years working for the DOE in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he was responsible for oversight of Conduct of Operations and the Facility Representative Program within the Weapons Complex followed by responsibility for the Waste Management Program at Sandia National Laboratories where he negotiated mixed waste Federal Facility Agreements with three states. Ted returned to Hanford in 1999 and led the Tanks Focus Area, a Complex-wide technology development program for several years.

Ted was a key member in standing up the Pacific Northwest Site Office (PNSO) under the Office of Science in 2003 and served in positions as the Integrated Safety Management Program Manager and Facilities and Operations Team Leader.

Ted holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington and has extensive training in management and operations. He is also qualified as a Senior Technical Safety Manager and is a certified Contracting Officer's Representative

Ted is a native of Milwaukie, Oregon and lives in the Tri-Cities with his wife Kim and their two sons, Jack and Jason.
