Roger M. Claycomb

Roger Claycomb has more than 30 years of experience in the nuclear industry in both nuclear facility operations and oversight. He served in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years operating nuclear propulsion plants on aircraft carriers and served two prototype tours at the Naval Reactors Facility in Idaho as an instructor. Mr. Claycomb has extensive experience in waste management operations at both the Radioactive Waste Management Complex and at the Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Project while working for site contractors for six years at the Idaho National Laboratory.

Mr. Claycomb has been with DOE since 2006 first, as a facility representative and is currently the Work Planning and Control Program Manager overseeing contractor execution of three WP&C programs at the INL representing both EM and NE. Mr. Claycomb has participated in numerous readiness reviews, both as a team member and as a team leader, and has participated on several Integrated Safety Management System Phase I and Phase II verification reviews. He has supported the DOE Accident Investigation Program as a Board Member on several accident investigations. Mr. Claycomb holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Science and Technology from Thomas Edison State College.
