Rich Davies
Laboratory Objective Leader
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory

As the Project Lifecycle Steward at PNNL, he has provided leadership and management to more effectively and efficiently enable the conduct of research and development. This includes developing and implementing project-based work planning and control methods used throughout PNNL. This work has also led to the creation, development and deployment the PNNL Integrated Management System, which redefined our basis of managing and operating PNNL in FY2011 - where the research project is the primary unit of work. This work has included defining opportunities to improve, developing plans to implement improvements, and executing improvements that are Laboratory-wide; as well as measuring research staff satisfaction with the process and systems deployed to R&D staff.

Prior roles include Researcher, Principle Investigator, Project Manager, and Account Manager for energy-related programs and projects. He has more than 20 years of extensive experience in the area of advanced manufacturing and advanced product development and commercialization, with particular emphasis on forming and joining aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, and advanced high strength steel (AHSS) to make innovative automotive and aerospace components.
