The Department of Energy (DOE) Annual Fire Protection Program Summary annually summarizes monetary loss information sent to Headquarters by reporting elements. Since May 1950, an Annual Fire Protection Program Summary (Annual Summary) has been submitted by DOE’s fire protection community under the requirements of DOE's predecessor agencies: the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) and the Energy Research Development Administration (ERDA). This report is currently required by section 4b (2) of DOE Order 231.1B, Environment, Safety and Health Reporting and is considered the primary source for quantifying monetary loss from fire across the DOE Complex.
