Even the best energy retrofit plans work only as well as the people occupying the building will allow. The Weatherization Assistance Program understands that a building is more than its component parts; that the occupants are part of the “House as a System.” Resident education is a very important component on every weatherization project. Residents must be educated on how to make the best use of the new systems and upgrades and how personal actions can improve or hinder a building’s comfort and performance.
