Transportation Technologies Office (TTO) provides a variety of resources—including more than 75 Clean Cities coalitions nationwide—to help fleet managers find the right technologies and alternative fuels to reduce their costs and improve operational efficiency. In addition, TTO also manages programs for regulated fleets that are required to use alternative fuels.

- Clean Cities provides information about funding sources for alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs), including grants from the federal government.
- The Guide to Federal Funding, Financing, and Technical Assistance for Plug-in Electric Vehicles (PEVs) and Charging Stations provides a description of opportunities and points of contact to assist those interested in advancing PEV technology.
- The Advanced Vehicle Testing Activity produces data sets on electric drive and AFVs that fleet managers can use to better understand their performance and other characteristics.
- The National Idle Reduction Network News reports on grants, publications, and news related to reducing vehicle idling.

- Through the Technical Response Service and Tiger Teams, Clean Cities offers technical assistance for the simplest to the most complex challenges.
- The Alternative Fuels Data Center hosts more than 15 interactive online tools to help fleet managers make decisions about their fleet.
- The Alternative Fueling Station Locator maps thousands of alternative fuel stations across the country, including electric charging, natural gas, biofuels, and propane.
- The AFLEET tool allows a fleet to calculate its petroleum use, cost of ownership, and emissions.
- The Petroleum Reduction Planning Tool helps fleets create a strategy to meet their petroleum reduction goals.
- Light-Duty and Heavy-Duty Vehicle Searches help fleet managers find vehicles that meet their specifications.
- The Laws and Incentives Database supplies information on tax credits, rebates, exemptions, loan/lease programs, and grant programs at the federal and state level.
Programs for Fleet Managers
- The State and Alternative Fuel Provider Fleet Program works with covered fleets to reduce petroleum consumption and use alternative fuels.
- FleetDASH measures compliance with the EPAct 2005 Section 701 requirement to use alternative fuel in dual fueled vehicles. The tool allows users to view agency-level or fleet-level summaries as well as individual vehicle fuel transaction summaries.
- Clean Cities supports local actions to reduce petroleum consumption in transportation, including working with fleet managers around the country to deploy alternative and renewable fuels, idle reduction measures, and fuel economy improvements.
- The National Clean Fleets Partnership builds on the success of Clean Cities by collaborating with the nation’s largest private fleets to cut petroleum use and share partnership opportunities.
