The Energy Department today announced the SunShot Innovator-in-Residence Fellowship Program, which is available to professionals at all of the Department’s national laboratories who have demonstrated outstanding and distinguished success in technology innovation across various fields. This new program will complement other fellowships available to exceptional scientists, engineers, researchers, and managers. The SunShot Innovator-in-Residence Fellowship Program will allow national lab employees to conduct innovative research and development where they currently work. This enables the SunShot Initiative to further explore high-impact areas of interest outside of existing, funded lab projects.
The fellowship is a full-time position with an appointment of up to three years. Each fellow’s research focus will be proposed and thoroughly reviewed at the end of the first year and projects will be executed in the second and third years. Selected fellows are expected to produce research results relevant to long-term solar energy strategies.
The number of fellowships awarded will depend on the quality of applications and the availability of funding.
How to Apply
Application packages must be emailed no later than May 15, 2016, to solar@ee.doe.gov. Application packages must include:
- Current CV;
- List of publications and patents; and
- A cover letter outlining the applicant’s innovation track record and accomplishments.
