EERE’s Fuel Cell Technologies Office launched a national emergency response training resource in February. The new resource is the brainchild of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and the California Fuel Cell Partnership. This free resource will serve as a first responder-training repository filled with the most current and accurate information on hydrogen and fuel cells.

Local first responder training organizations can disseminate the information nationwide, allowing emergency response groups to customize their own unique training programs using consistent hydrogen and fuel cells content and standards. This information focuses on personal safety and property preservation during emergencies and compliments existing first response training methods.

The Fuel Cell Technologies Office (FCTO) conducts comprehensive efforts to overcome the technological, economic, and institutional barriers to the widespread commercialization of hydrogen and fuel cells.

The Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) success stories highlight the positive impact of its work with businesses, industry partners, universities, research labs, and other entities.
