The IES recently approved TM-30-15, a new method for evaluating light source color rendition. This webinar, “Understanding and Applying TM-30-15, the IES Method for Evaluating Light Source Color Rendition,” will cover the basics of the new method, while also discussing the development process and the ongoing steps toward widespread adoption. It will include an overview of the hierarchy of individual measures and graphics that are available to describe a light source’s color rendition with various degrees of specificity, and provide examples of how they can be applied by various users. The presentation will also include a demonstration of the Excel tools that will be distributed with the document. The webinar will include a 60-minute presentation followed by a 30-minute live Q&A session.

A follow-up webinar will focus on the math and color science that forms the backbone of the new calculation engine, which synthesizes numerous advances from the past decades of research on color rendering.
