Student poster competition

Now in its 14th year, the SSL R&D Workshop draws the best and brightest in the industry to share the latest on SSL technology advances. And each year, the popular evening poster session and reception offers one-on-one interaction between presenters and attendees to network and exchange ideas—and help accelerate SSL.

In 2016, seven students from five universities were selected for the inaugural competition, and presented during the workshop poster session in Raleigh, NC. For 2017, DOE expanded the competition to invite not only posters but also lighting concept demonstration projects — prototypes of designs that address problems.

Congratulations to the 2017 selected poster presenters:
  • Indrani Bhattacharya, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
  • Hao Chen, University of Central Florida
  • Clayton Cozzan, University of California, Santa Barbara
  • Jinyuan Zhao, Boston University

Selected presenters receive FREE workshop registration, and DOE invites all other students to attend the workshop, at the discounted rate of $200.
