LAYC Career Academy STEM Fair

Join us on May 30th for the Latin American Youth Center (LAYC) Career Academy's Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Fair, which will be held at the following location:

The event will start with a roundtable discussion of Latinos in STEM, with a first look at the new Spanish translation of the Energy Literacy Framework.  Following the discussion will be student presentations of their STEM projects.

Roundtable speakers will include:

  • Marco Di Capua, Chief Scientist, National Nuclear Security Administration, Defense Nuclear Non-Proliferation R&D, Department of Energy
  • Jacqueline Fernandez, Science Instructor, STEM Department Chair, LAYC Career Academy
  • Gonzalo García, Economic and Commercial Counselor, Embassy of Spain
  • Maya García, STEM Specialist, Office of the State Superintendent of Education, District of Columbia
  • Bertha Haro, Director of Development, Great Minds in STEM
  • José Niño, One World Literacy, Hispanics in Energy
  • Joshua Sneideman, Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow, Department of Energy
