John W. Meeker
Deputy, Procurement Services, Golden Field Office
As Deputy of Procurement Services for the Golden Field Office in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), John directs the procurement activity—both acquisition and financial assistance—for EERE programs and projects in virtually all technology areas. This portfolio spans wind, solar, geothermal, bioenergy, advanced manufacturing, fuel cells, buildings, water, and hydrogen technologies, as well as weatherization and the acquisition of services to support technology development and the general operational needs of the service Center and EERE.
Before assuming his current position, John served as the Director of Contracting for the Department of Defense at the TRICARE Management Activity, where he oversaw a contracting portfolio valued at more than $50 billion for medical, dental, pharmaceutical and miscellaneous services and support.
John began his career as a contracting intern for the Navy and moved through a variety of positions in the Department of Energy and the Department of Defense, where he consistently received recognition for his knowledge of procurement and his ability to manage organizations. John is certified in contracting and program management and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Personnel Administration and Industrial Relations from the University of Wyoming and a Master of Business Administration (finance) degree from California State University, San Bernardino.
