Worker Safety and Health Enforcement Preliminary Notice of Violation issued to BWXT Conversion Services, LLC for violations of 10 C.F.R. Part 851 relating to a potassium hydroxide injury event

On July 13, 2016, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Enterprise Assessments’ Office of Enforcement issued a Preliminary Notice of Violation (WEA-2016-03) to BWXT Conversion Services, LLC for violations of the Department of Energy’s worker safety and health program requirements (10 C.F.R. 851) relating to an inadvertent release of potassium hydroxide that injured two workers at DOE’s Portsmouth Depleted Uranium Hexafluoride Conversion Plant in Piketon, Ohio.
