Review of the Radiological Controls Activity-Level Implementation at the Argonne National Laboratory Nuclear Facilities.

The Office of Nuclear Safety and Environmental Assessments, within the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) independent Office of Enterprise Assessments, Office of Environment, Safety and Health Assessments, conducted a review of Radiation Protection Program activity-level implementation at the Argonne National Laboratory (ANL). ANL is managed by the University of Chicago, Argonne LLC with oversight by DOE’s Office of Science and its Argonne Site Office. Independent Oversight conducted the review within the broader context of ongoing targeted assessments of radiological control programs, with an emphasis on the implementation of radiological work planning and control across DOE nuclear facilities. The targeted review of ANL was performed during the period from April 7-25, 2014.
