Course Description: The FEOSH Annual Training provides pertinent information and resources for employees about workplace hazards and how these hazards are to be reported. When employees participate in identifying and controlling hazards, the overall level of safety and health in the workplace and at home is greatly improved.
Topics for this year’s training cover issues that affect our daily lives at work and at home. Topics include workplace hazards, including slips, trips, falls, electrical hazards, stress reduction, and telework. Employees are required to complete the entire course to receive credit.
Requirements: Presidential Executive Order 12196, Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970; and 29 CFR 1960, Elements for Federal Employee Occupational Safety and Health Program, require Federal Agencies to develop and implement a safety and health program to protect its Federal workforce from workplace hazards.
Audience: All Department of Energy (DOE) Federal employees. Contractor and subcontractor employees are required to complete this training course only if their employer has elected to comply with title 10 Code of Federal Regulations, part 851 (10 CFR 851) by adopting DOE’s Federal Employee Occupational Safety and Health (FEOSH) program.

Registration: The course is available through the Online Learning Center (OLC) for DOE Federal Employees at Headquarters and Field sites. DOE Federal employees can access the OLC directly from Employee Self-Service (ESS) without a separate username and password. Employees and Managers/Supervisors are required to complete the same course.
1. Log onto ESS
2. Under the ESS menu bar, click TRAINING > ACCESS TRAINING > ONLINE LEARNING CENTER. The Welcome to the Online Learning Center page will open. Click the CONNECT TO OLC button at the bottom of the page. (Note: if you are a contractor or haven’t logged into the OLC within the last 6 months, this feature will not work because you are required to reset your password. In this case, you must access OLC)
3. You will then be directed to the Online Learning Center News page. The course will appear in the ‘New and Featured Courses from DOE’ section, and in your ‘To-Do List’. To start the training, click the course title: 2014 FEOSH ANNUAL TRAINING COURSE > START COURSE. (Note: you can search for the courses in the ‘Search Catalog’ field on the Welcome page, or click the NEWS link on the right side of the page under the ‘Easy Links’ section on the Welcome page.)
4. Once you have completed the course, review your Completed Work History to confirm completion, and print your certificate. Click the HOME tab > COMPLETED WORK pod > place the mouse over the course title for a few seconds > select PRINT CERTIFICATE.
