The high school regional science bowl competition was held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the U.S. Department of Energy. The winning team was Woodrow Wilson High School.

At the National Science Bowl, high school and middle school students participate in a nation-wide competition to test their knowledge of all areas of science.  High school and middle school students are quizzed in a fast paced question-and-answer format similar to Jeopardy. 

In February, the Office of Economic Impact and Diversity held the 2014 Washington, D.C., regional competitions for middle school and high school to determine which schools would earn a spot at the national competition in April. 

The middle school science bowl competition was held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Howard University Middle School. After five rounds of competition, the winning team was BASIS DC, coached by Kristy Sundberg. Team members included William Ellsworth, Vincent Premysler, Nicla De Biasi, Leah Johnson, and George Turmail.

The high school regional science bowl competition was held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the U.S. Department of Energy.  The winning team was Woodrow Wilson High School, coached by Angela Benjamin. Team members included Lisa Zhao, Charlotte Hovland, Miro Furtado, and Nicolas Colaizzi.

See them compete for the national championship slot on April 24-28, in Washington, D.C.
