Kate E. Brandt - Senior Advisor
Kate Brandt serves as a Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of Energy in the Office of the Under Secretary for Science and Energy. Previously, Kate was the Director for Energy and Environment in the Office of Presidential Personnel at the White House. Before the White House, Kate served as the Special Advisor for Energy to the Secretary of the Navy. When President Obama tapped the Secretary of the Navy to oversee the long-term recovery plan for Gulf Coast in the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, Kate was asked to serve as the policy director for that effort.
Kate was previously a Policy Analyst in the White House Office of Energy and Climate Change. Prior to this, Kate worked on the Presidential Transition team for Dr. Susan Rice and the national security agency review team. Kate received her Masters in International Relations from the University of Cambridge where she was a Gates Cambridge Scholar. Kate graduated with honors from Brown University with a concentration in international relations.
