Virginia Arreguin - Associate CIO for Energy IT Services
Ms. Virginia Arreguin is the Associate CIO Energy IT Services. She is responsible for overseeing the delivery of commodity IT services for the EITS customer base. Prior to her current assignment, Ms. Arreguin was involved in transforming IT Service Delivery for the Department of Defense for over 23 years. She held positions in the Army, Air Force, Washington Headquarters Services, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
Ms. Arreguin led two major IT consolidations in DoD. The first effort focused on consolidating disparate networks into one. This effort achieved a cost savings of $5 million dollars, improved the security posture, and provided the users with a robust, survivable, and scalable architecture. Ms. Arreguin was also instrumental in consolidating sixteen IT Service Desks, an effort that had been tried for many years unsuccessfully. In addition, Ms. Arreguin implemented numerous IT investments that improved customer productivity and reduced overall costs for DoD. She led the effort to transform the Pentagon IT backbone by implementing a Metropolitan Area Network which enabled the rollout of IT solutions that would not have been possible with the previous capability.
Ms. Arreguin holds a Master of Science from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science from East Carolina University. She received her IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Service Operations Certification in 2009. Ms. Arreguin was awarded the Department of the Army, Superior Civilian Service Award, Meritorious Civilian Service Award, and the OSD Superior Civilian Service Award.
