DOE made investments to lay the foundation for a new clean energy economy:

  • reducing our dependence on foreign energy sources

Investments in advanced vehicle manufacturing, renewable energy generation, the weatherization of low-income homes, smart meter deployment, and carbon capture and sequestration have benefited communities across the country, at the same time that they have increased the nation’s economic competitiveness.
