Lajos Grof-Tisza - Director, Office of Corporate Information Systems

Lajos Grof-Tisza

Mr. Lajos Grof-Tisza joined the Department of Energy in 2003 and currently serves as the Director of Corporate Information Systems. As the Director of Corporate Information Systems, Mr. Grof-Tisza is responsible for planning and managing the design, development, operation and maintenance of the Department's Integrated Management Navigation (iManage) program and projects; identify and implement business process automation initiatives; provide technical support for legacy systems operations and maintenance; provide technical support for web design, development and maintenance; manage cyber security and enterprise architecture activities; and serve as the liaison to Chief Information Officer for Information Technology services.

Mr. Grof-Tisza is a Project Management Institute certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with over ten years of experience in senior level project management and/or systems analyst positions. Mr. Grof-Tisza has been a federal project director for a major Department of Energy enterprise system (iManage Data Warehouse/iPortal) since 2004. He has also served as a Federal Team leader with federal supervisory responsibilities for the last 4 years.

In this role, Lajos lead the department to improved resource stewardship by integrating the various systems data into one centralized data warehouse. Most recently with the Recovery Act, Lajos was responsible for leading his team to identify, record and track key milestones and data needed to support the unprecedented levels of transparency and accountability associated with Recovery Act reporting. Lajos is also spearheading the Web 2.0 movement throughout the department by integrating social engineering capabilities like wikis, blogs, web conferencing, and instant messaging into the Portal project.

Lajos has received his PMP project manager certification from the Project Management Institute. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Economic Sciences from the University of Economics of Budapest, Hungary. In addition, Lajos also earned his Master's of Business Administration from Campbell University and his Master's of Computer Resources and Information Management from Webster University.
