Last week, a select group of 100 women gathered at the White House for a day of education, discussion and action concerning climate and energy. The summit specifically highlighted women in leadership positions who are addressing climate change and energy issues, and encouraged commitments moving forward for further collaboration across organizations.

Throughout the day, attendees from business, research, government and nonprofit sectors examined the crucial roles women play in science, energy and climate. Panels and workshops focused specifically on how to better include women’s voices in the effort to improve America’s communities, workplaces and schools.

Included among the list of participants were Heather Zichal, President Obama’s top adviser on energy and climate change, and Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz. Each spoke about the challenges facing climate change and the solutions the Obama Administration is committed to working on.
