“This week, the Energy Department welcomes Dr. Adam Schwartz as the new director of Ames National Laboratory.
“In his new role, Adam will build upon his work in the Condensed Matter and Materials Division at the Energy Department's Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and as a coordinator for the Lab’s projects for the Critical Materials Institute at Ames. Ames is a world-class institution known for its work in materials science, computational chemistry and condensed matter theory, and Adam will certainly maintain the high caliber of research. He will guide Ames Lab as it confronts new challenges in science and technology in service to our nation.
“I also thank interim Director Tom Lograsso for his leadership during the search and former Director Alex King for his excellent service, which he is continuing at the Critical Materials Institute. We look forward to the exciting new discoveries that are sure to emerge from the work at Ames.”
