WASHINGTON - On Monday, September 27, 2010, U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu and Representative Rush Holt will tour Applied Photovoltaics. With help from a Recovery Act-funded $1.1 million clean energy manufacturing tax credit, Applied Photovoltaics will manufacture solar energy modules for use in building-integrated photovoltaics.
In the afternoon, Secretary Chu will tour the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory and speak to employees. He will then join Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter and other officials in an event highlighting the Energy Innovation Hub for energy-efficient buildings design at the Philadelphia Navy Yard Clean Energy campus.
