Washington, D.C. - U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman will travel to Japan and South Korea from Thursday, June 17th to Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010. Deputy Secretary Poneman will begin his trip in Tokyo, where he will meet with officials to discuss ways to strengthen the U.S.-Japan energy relationship. On Friday, June 18th, he will also deliver remarks at the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan on the urgent need to build a clean, sustainable energy future.
Deputy Secretary Poneman will then travel to Fukui, Japan, where he will participate in the APEC Energy Ministers Meeting.
On Sunday, June 20th, Deputy Secretary Poneman will travel to Seoul to meet with officials to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation on energy issues. On Monday, June 21st, he will deliver remarks at the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea on the United States' commitment to clean energy and the importance of collaboration to meet our energy and climate challenges.
