WASHINGTON – On Thursday, November 21, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman will join with officials from Clemson University to dedicate the nation’s largest and one of the world’s most advanced wind energy testing facilities in North Charleston, S.C. Led by Clemson University’s Restoration Institute, the facility will help test and validate new wind energy technology – reducing costs for manufacturers, speeding deployment of next generation technology into the marketplace and boosting global competitiveness for American companies.

Deputy Secretary Poneman will participate in an open press tour of the new Clemson facility with other Energy Department officials, industry executives and elected officials.

Later that day, Deputy Secretary Poneman will join the South Carolina Small Business Chamber of Commerce and local business owners in a roundtable discussion on steady, responsible action to address a changing climate and build stronger, more resilient communities. He will join in a press availability following the roundtable.
